Albarada is METT Barcelona's flagship restaurant: a reinterpretation of Mediterranean cuisine through a lens of local sourcing, in the same building that was for a century the Gran Hotel La Florida. Alongside 1925 Vermutería, it forms the property's gastronomic heart, sharing an outdoor terrace that extends the dining experience into the open air.
Astet Studio designed both spaces under a single design language, so that Albarada and the vermutería are perceived as a coherent extension of the hotel rather than as independent venues. Here, that inspiration translates into a bright atmosphere, with natural materials and a neutral palette that lets the culinary offering take centre stage, without giving up the artisanal touches that connect the space to the hotel's Catalan identity.
Our involvement consisted of the technical development and manufacture of the dining room's fixed furniture.
The most distinctive piece is the central bench in the dining room: with a perimeter planter enclosing a set of four seating units, upholstered, with a curved rear finish.
Around it, the banquette seating and corner units — some over six meters long — repeat the same language of oak, planters and technical fabric, including waiter stations built into the furniture itself, with brass pulls and a stone top.
The dining room is completed with chairs, stools and tables — in square and round formats, with metal legs or solid wood bases.
On the outdoor terrace, the design is resolved with original Kettal collections, the Barcelona-based outdoor furniture brand: chairs, sofas and tables whose supply and installation we coordinated alongside the rest of the project, so that the transition between the indoor dining room and the outdoors maintains the same material coherence as the rest of the hotel.
