This restaurant, part of the La Máquina Group, is located within the grounds of the Espacio Caleido tower, in the Cuatro Torres business district.
The space spans three floors, totalling 850 square meters, distributed across distinct areas, including three bars, the main dining room, several street-level terraces, and a rooftop terrace where you can dine or enjoy drinks with views of Madrid's tallest skyscrapers.
The restaurant was designed by Diego Gronda. Gronda Studio has developed a striking design that occupies the architectural volumes closest to the park, spread across three floors and accommodating more than 300 diners.
A series of eclectic, modern spaces, featuring cocktail bars and ceilings over seven meters high, aims to create unique atmospheres for different patrons and times of day.
The bar's triple-height space features a large cocktail/gastronomic bar designed as an abstract locomotive with its iconic front disc. From this bar emanate the characteristic steam bubbles from the locomotive's boilers. Following these steam bubbles, represented by large, custom-designed light fixtures, diners discover a second dining area on a large panoramic terrace above: the Rooftop.
The studio has developed a concept that simulates a complete train—a reference to "The Machine."
Thus, we can see how the main bar on the first floor emulates a locomotive, with sculptures above it that simulate smoke in the form of large fibreglass volumes filled with fire-retardant resin, suspended and illuminated. Meanwhile, the main dining area is inspired by an authentic Art Deco luxury train carriage, a style from the heyday of locomotives.
At Martínez Otero, we have collaborated on the manufacture and installation of several of the main pieces of the space, such as panelling, bars, and aged mirrors, evoking a large locomotive engine and the spacious, stately waiting rooms of stations.
