Participating in the Orient Express Corinthian has marked a new milestone in our journey in the marine sector. Developed by Chantiers de l'Atlantique, this extraordinary sailing ship redefines ultra-luxury hospitality and has become a new global benchmark for its innovation, sophistication, and technical complexity.

At 220 meters in length, with three masts and 54 exclusive suites, the vessel brings the legacy of the iconic Orient Express brand to the sea. Its interiors, designed by the prestigious French architect Maxime d'Angeac, reinterpret the elegance of the golden age of travel through a meticulous combination of craftsmanship, fine materials, and contemporary design.

From the earliest stages of the project's technical development, we worked closely with the design team to transform an exceptional creative vision into viable construction solutions for the naval environment.

According to Maxime d’Angeac, Martínez Otero's involvement was crucial in the execution of some of the ship's most complex suites: “They managed to bring to life exactly our vision for these spaces. They never wavered, and even during the project's most challenging moments, they were able to complete a particularly sophisticated and complex project on time.” The designer also highlighted “the quality of the manufacturing, the integration, the coordination, and the precision of their working relationship with our team.”

Our engineering team developed every detail with a clear objective: to preserve the essence of the original design while simultaneously meeting the demanding requirements for weight, fire resistance, sound insulation, vibration resistance, and durability inherent in a project of this scale.

We were responsible for the fabrication and installation of a significant portion of the ship's interior fit-out and the turnkey execution of the 16 exclusive Mirror Suites, distributed across five distinct configurations.

In these suites, we developed curved joinery, wooden archways, built-in furniture, and high-end finishes, integrating each element into a perfectly connected whole. The precision is virtually imperceptible to the guest, yet essential to achieving the luxurious experience envisioned by the designer.

One of the greatest challenges was the veneer-matching process, developed to ensure visual continuity of the wood grain across all spaces. 

To achieve this result, we carried out a thorough selection of metal sheets from the source, a second sorting process at our facilities, and meticulous piece-by-piece mapping and coding, allowing us to control the entire engineering, manufacturing, and installation process with absolute precision.

This project reflects our ability to develop highly complex contract solutions, combining engineering, industrialisation, and craftsmanship to bring to life the vision of some of the world's most renowned architects and interior designers.
