The Hotel Arts Barcelona, one of the leading names in luxury hospitality in Europe, is undergoing one of the most ambitious transformations in its history. Operated by The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, this project represents a profound renovation that redefines the guest experience through a more contemporary, sensory design connected to the Mediterranean environment.
At Martínez Otero Contract, we participated in the first phase of this renovation, manufacturing and installing the furniture for 432 standard rooms and suites, distributed between floors 3 and 33 of the hotel. This project, developed during 2024 and 2025, required meticulous planning, highly specialised execution, and close coordination with all stakeholders.
With architecture by GCA Architects and interior design by Meyer Davis, the renovation reinterprets the hotel's identity through two complementary concepts. Sea, inspired by the light and serenity of the Mediterranean, and Mountain, a warmer, more enveloping concept that engages with Barcelona's urban landscape. Both atmospheres coexist to offer a sophisticated, balanced, and timeless experience.
Each room has been designed with meticulous attention to detail, with precision in manufacturing, high-quality materials, and excellence in execution essential to realising the project's vision. The combination of advanced industrial processes and a deep understanding of bespoke manufacturing has allowed us to meet the demanding standards of one of the city's most iconic hotels.
After completing this first phase, Martínez Otero Contract continues its involvement in the project by constructing the common areas, dining and wellness spaces, meeting rooms, and other unique areas of the hotel.
Our participation in Hotel Arts Barcelona demonstrates our ability to manage large-scale, highly complex hotel projects, working alongside international architects, designers, and operators to create spaces that elevate the contemporary hospitality experience.
