On the Avenida Diagonal, in the heart of Barcelona, is the new SOFIA: an exclusive five-star hotel. This emblematic hotel exudes an air of innovation, sophistication and exclusivity in all its corners.
After an integral process of a reconceptualization of all its spaces, and an investment of 60 million euros, it is a spectacular and unique architectural work.
For this new concept, SOFIA owned by Selenta Group has had outstanding partners for its different areas and services.
Albert Blanch and the SBC studio have been responsible for carrying out the architecture and interior design work of the hotel. It includes the design of meeting rooms, common areas and facades, among other spaces.
After crossing its entrance, it is even more evident that the establishment has leapt of the century: a new open and design hall, much more luminous and personalised.
In the interior design of the hotel, both in the lobby that welcomes customers and in the select VIP floors, there are 2,300 m2 of laminates installed. They are combined with other materials such as ceramics, marble and natural woods.
In the lobby, they stand out in various designs (aluminium and silver) and carefully finished finishes applied to the ceiling in original suspended polyhedral sculptures, and forming different mirrors in columns and walls.
In the VIP plants, the laminate in grey colour and gloss finish provides all the luxury and sophistication that this exclusive area of the hotel requires.
The hotel has 447 rooms and 18 design suites, a comprehensive offer in the style of large American hotels, but with a decidedly European aesthetic.
The ‘new look’ is drastic in the rooms, which are divided into:
- HARMONY: with balanced and harmonious interior design.
- SPHERE: with furniture in modern lines.
- INFINITY: room finished in marble, wood and golden tones.
- SO SUITE: a spacious junior suite with views of the city, according to dimensions and features, with minimalist furniture, wood and stone, generous proportions, lots of light and viewpoints to look out onto Avenida Diagonal.
All rooms, equipped with the most advanced home automation technology, transmit harmony, balance and exclusivity.
The SPHERE rooms are located on floors 1 to 6 and they are inspired by the cosmopolitan style of the city.
With furniture of contemporary design, in which the circular mirror is the main protagonist – half between a dresser and an HD Smart TV – it is the place of those who are surprised with every detail.
The 18 suites, the most exclusive rooms, respond to the name of WISH and are located on the good floors of the building.
Wish Granted is a penthouse of 300 square meters with great views of the city, consisting of a living area, office, a large bedroom, dressing table, dressing room, two bathrooms, a private office for stewardship and a place for the service.
All the suites -First Wish, Great Wish and Best Wish- have personalised 24-hour butler service (Mr Rightnow).
