Ian Schrager, an icon of the world of hospitality, co-founder of Studio54 disco and responsible for the first design hotels in New York with the signature of Philippe Starck, in partnership with the Marriott International chain, has created The Edition Barcelona.
This new hotel occupies a historic building, right in the Born district, right in front of the Santa Caterina market, completely renovated and transformed by Carlos Ferrater’s architectural studio.
Concerning interior design, this has been carried out under the creative direction of Ian Schrager himself together with the interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán.
This exclusive hotel has 100 rooms in which Martínez Otero Contract has collaborated in the creation of all of them with unique furniture and designed ad hoc.
The walls are covered with panels of walnut wood inspired by the shutters of the facades found in the old town.
The floors have a white parquet in oak wood spike. The fabrics have been carefully selected as the engraved leather used in the headboards. The bathrooms are finished in white marble with brass details. And the two imposing penthouses, with a concept of an apartment, have private terraces are equipped with furniture to enjoy and relax.
